WYD One Year Out -31 July 2015

Exciting times!  On Friday 31 July, all pilgrims from secondary schools in the Sydney Archdiocese gathered at All Saints, Liverpool for the One Year Out celebration!

The pilgrims heard from many great speakers, learnt about the WYD theme "Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy" (Mtt 5:7), and celebrated mass with the Archbishop!

The students are very excited about the pilgrimage ahead of them!

Here's what pilgrim Joseph Schirripa had to say about the day:
The World Youth Day One Year out event was a day for all potential WYD Pilgrims to attend, encourage and excite us for the year ahead and our journey that will come in just 365 days. We had the privilege to celebrate mass with his grace, the Archbishop of Sydney and also got to ask him questions in regards to WYD. The NET (National Evangelisation Team) presented a few dramas to us and shared their own personal WYD experiences. Finally, we were given a taste of Poland by a group of 8 Polish dancers and Polish doughnuts for the ride home. This day overall made us all excited for not only the trip in a years time but the year we have ahead to prepare for it. WYD promises to be a once in a life time opportunity and this day was a glimpse of the amounts of new people we will meet and the spiritual journey it will take us on. I intend to make this most of this pilgrimage and hopefully get the most out of it! -Joseph Schirripa (Year 10)
